Vivian Spinn, CPA
Vivian Spinn is a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM. She is a graduate of Manzano High School and Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico. She was employed by Hinkle & Martinez in 1988 as a full-charge bookkeeper before obtaining her Bachelor’s degree, and remained with the firm through various ownerships, until becoming a partner herself in 2006. She left the firm in 2012 to open her own firm.
Vivian has extensive experience in bookkeeping and write-up, payroll and pension plans, Section 125 (Cafeteria) plans, and all aspects of tax preparation for individuals, businesses, estates and trusts. She was an auditor of state and not-for-profit agencies and while she no longer audits, she consults on various not-for-profit engagements including bookkeeping, payroll and internal control. She keeps informed on changing tax issues by subscribing to various tax newsletter and attending professional education classes throughout the year. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the NM Society of Certified Public Accountants (NMSCPA), and the NM Society of Public Accountants (NMSPA), and she holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) credential. She has three children, and with her husband, owns a small local restaurant.
Jennifer McKinney has been with Vivian Spinn since May 2008 as a Full-Charge Bookkeeper. Her responsibilities include bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, all aspects of payroll calculation & preparation including on-line filing of reports, and CRS-1 calculation & on-line filing. She is experienced in preparing individual and business tax returns. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting degree from the College of Santa Fe. She regularly attends tax and payroll classes to keep up-to-date with changing laws.
Colleen Haar is a Staff Accountant and has been with the firm since August 2006. She is a graduate of Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Accountancy including a minor in Management and Database Information Systems. She was born and raised in rural South Dakota.
Colleen has extensive experience in bookkeeping and write-up, payroll, and all aspects of tax preparation for individuals, businesses and non-profits. She also has experience working with QuickBooks including setup for new companies. She began her career with a firm in California and gained valuable experience providing financial management services for an international musician group.
As our Office Manager, Kitty O’Dwyer will be the first person who greets you. Kitty has over 10 years of experience in accounting office administration. She maintains our client data files, sets up client appointments, coordinates tax return processing, client correspondence, software updates and generally keeps the office running smoothly.
